Even prettier in person, our debut collection of wall hangings is named for its added benefit of noise absorption. The Sound Collection is handwoven with a fuzzy mohair element, so they’re pleasant to touch. Their motifs are geometric, and their texture is created through the movement of the lines; inspired by experimental ikat weaving.
In this piece, the designers played off the vertical drape. It has a neutral ground with a bright ikat-like stripe that cuts down the right side. This piece can be displayed either vertically or horizontally.
The MaterialNew Zealand wool is a premium wool beloved for its softness and long fibers. Like all wools, it has a hydrophobic layer which repels dust and dirt, as well as lanolin, which provides its trademark luster and protects the fiber from breaking or shedding. In this piece, it’s handwoven onto a 100% cotton foundation for durability.
The MakerOur partner is the third weaving generation of his family, and heads a small weaving house known for their unparalleled skill. A perfectionist with color, he and his team take great pride in their work, which is evident in their final product.
The DesignerOur in-house, all-star design team collaborates across three different countries. Based in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai, they put a lot of thought into each and every collection they design. Starting with the weave itself, they determine material and technique, then create moodboards to capture the look and feel before starting to design. When designs are finalized, they work with the supplier on an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and color before it goes to production.
