Steppe is a shape-shifter which plays well with others. Named for its modernist, geometric design—an architectural stepped pattern known as a ziggurat—it’s an understated, adaptable classic.

- Handspun wool weft expresses the natural irregularities and textures of the yarn
- Cotton warp creates a sturdy, long-lasting foundation
- The geometric pattern is woven in a subtle spectrum of cool grey to warm brown, carefully mixed for continuity. Their marled, heathered tones adapt easily to any surrounding color palette.
We partnered with a small, family-run weaving house known for their commitment to hand-weaving and flatweave expertise. They’re Craftmark-certified, which means they meet stringent standards for socially responsible handmade products. Many of their weavers have been with them for as long as 30 years. To visit their factory is to be steeped in its personal history, from the walls of photographs honoring their lineage, to the majestic, hundred-year-old timber looms they still use today.
