The Collection
The Scallop Collection is a set of two braided jute rugs with bouncy curvilinear edges. Woven in a natural palette and reminiscent of doilies or oversized postage stamps, they're perfect if you're looking for a jute piece with a little pizzazz. The Venus Rug, available in undyed golden jute or a mossy olive green, has a scalloped border and a solid ground. Its braiding travels clockwise, giving the effect of concentric rectangles.
The Material
Jute is a natural fiber with a golden sheen, known for its tensile strength and versatility. An eco-conscious crop, jute has minimal water needs, and consumes large enough quantities of carbon dioxide that it's C02-neutral.
The Maker
Our Good Weave-certified partner began 15 years ago in Mirzapur, India. Prizing honesty, transparency, and ethical practices, they're passionate about the rugs they create, guaranteeing high quality and innovation.
The Designer
Our in-house, all-star design team works across Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Mumbai. Starting with the weave itself, they determine the collection material, technique, and mood. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and hue before it goes to production.
- Clean regularly with a non-rotary, low-powered vacuum. Do not use a beater brush
- Rotate your rug on occasion to ensure even wear over time
- Keep away from excessive moisture
- Do not dry clean or steam clean
- Professional cleaning recommended as needed
- In case of spills, use a paper towel or cloth to blot the liquid. Add some clean water sparingly to the spot to dilute the stain (or wet a paper towel or cloth) and blot gently, not vigorously. If the stain is persistent, try using a mild detergent, or a mixture of 1:1 white vinegar and water. Repeat this process until the stain is removed.
