A novel expression of the timeless stripe, the Rune Panel Rug features offset bands of varying widths which create a subtle visual rhythm
- 100% natural, undyed wool
- You may find traces of dried hay, grass, or straw in your rug as grazing sheep often collect plant matter in their coats. Remove gently by hand or with tweezers.
- Authentic wool fibers were used to weave this rug. Please note that when wool gets damp, it will smell like a wet sheep. This is the scent of lanolin, which acts as a waxy barrier against dirt and moisture.
- 4-panel flatweave (3-4 mm thick)
- 2.5" hand-tied fringe. Fringe is not included in the overall dimensions above.
- Color palette: powder blue, cream, dove gray
- Naturally stain-resistant and low-shed
- Due to its handmade nature a 5% variance in size, color and texture is to be expected.
Care
+
- Vacuum on low power with a non-rotary (no spinning brush) vacuum or suction attachment only.
- Due to the hand-crafted nature of our rugs, you can expect to see light shedding, matting, and signs of fiber and thread breakage over time. For high traffic areas, these effects may occur more quickly and easily.
- Spot cleaning instructions:
- Lightly dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water
- Gently blot the affected area with your damp towel or cloth to dilute the stain
- If the stain persists, try using an unscented, citrus-free, clear soap to avoid bleaching the textile.
- Repeat this process until the stain is removed

The Collection
Our Panel Collection is inspired by the rugs of nomadic tribes, who, limited by the size of their loom, would join long narrow panels together.
The Material
- We designed a premium custom wool blend which prioritizes the most important qualities of a rug: appearance, durability, and tactile experience. We use 30% New Zealand wool, prized for its softness and luster, 30% Afghan wool for its depth of color and texture, and 40% Sardinian wool, with a natural sheen and long fibers, which means they are strong and shed less.
- Handspun weft expresses the natural irregularities and tones of the yarn.
- Machine-spun warp creates a strong, longer-lasting foundation.
- The mix of natural grey-brown wools, chosen for their hue, means this rug is easily adaptable and plays well with a range of color palettes.
The Maker
For our Panel Collection, we partnered with a generations-old weaving house in Northern India"ɺthe same factory that produces some of the highest-end rugs on the American market. They helped us obsess over every detail, making endless samples and experimenting with new and forgotten techniques. They are also committed to low-impact production techniques: using local grain byproduct to power the factory, as well as testing and treating their water so it can be reused by local farmers.
