Our washable rugs fit into most commercial and household washing machines, just check the washing machine sizing capacity listed on your rug’s product page before washing. Our washable rugs can also be quickly spot cleaned - spills are easiest to remove while they're still wet to prevent stains from setting in. It’s also worth noting that the best spot cleaning approach depends on the type of rug you have:

• For jute, aloe, sisal, coir, hemp, polyester, polypropylene, and PET rugs, dip a rag in club soda and dab the area to lift the stain. 

• For wool and cotton rugs, use a clean toothbrush with cold water to gently brush the fibers. Dab a towel with unscented, clear soap and pat the area to pull up the stain.

Dust and dirt that accumulate in your rug can erode the fibers over time. The best way to combat this is to take your rug outside and give it a good shake every couple of weeks. Depending on how large it is, you may need to recruit a friend to help. However, if you’ve got a big spill or mess on your hands, machine washable rugs are really the best way to save you time and energy in cleaning, especially for busy professionals and parents.

Our washable collection is made up of the finest eco-friendly materials like wool, cotton, recycled denim, and OEKO-TEX® certified recycled polyester. We require large weaving houses that produce our wool Studio Revival collections to hold a certification from third-party organizations like GoodWeave India and Fairtrade. We do this to ensure that our wool rug collections are made using the highest ethical standards. Some popular washable wool rugs we offer are Taylor, Tschudi, and Helen.

Our washable cotton rugs are made from denim left over from fashion industry production houses. Did you know that one 5’ by 8’ rug is made up of anywhere between 10 to 12 pairs of recycled jeans? Our denim rugs are handwoven onto cotton warps, which are selected for its strength and longevity, plus, they tend to get softer with each wash. Some popular washable cotton rugs we offer are Topstitch, Selvedge, and Dungaree.

We also create washable rugs made from recycled polyester left over from production companies who manufacture polymers for textiles, medical, and engineering purposes, and which would otherwise end up in a landfill. The polyester runoff is transformed through heat into a soft, sustainable fiber with the look and feel of wool. Our recycled poly is highly durable, OEKO-TEX certified which sets the benchmark for textile safety from harmful chemicals, from yarn to finished product. Some popular washable recycled poly rugs we offer are Shell, Record, and Gambit.
